I still can’t understand why this game missed its release in October. It would have been such a perfect treat for Halloween, with all its candy and ghosts… But hey, better late than never! The game is finally here, so let’s take a look at what it has in store for us.
Peek-a-Boo is a five reel, four row video slot with 40 win lines in the base game. It has a Halloween theme (which makes its January launch a bit weird – could it have been delayed and left over?) with candy and ghosts on its reels. To be more specific, it has four colorful ghosts responsible for the bigger wins, and five types of candy which pay out lower amounts. The Peek-a-Boo logo acts as a Wild symbol, stacked in the base game and “super stacked” during free spins.
The kid – a fearless ghost hunter with a zap gun – also acts as a winning symbol, but also has a special significance. When landing on reel 3, it will zap one ghost per reel and transfer its ectoplasm into the meter on the right. Once the meter is filled (it takes 10 ghosts to do it) 10 free spins will be triggered. What makes things even more interesting is that during free spins the number of the game’s win lines increases to 1024. In addition, reels 4 and 5 can re-spin to boost winnings. If a 3-symbol win occurs, reels 4 and 5 will spin again, possibly completing the combination – and the same happens with a 4-symbol win.
Peek-a-Boo is a fun game – even if all the ghost-zapping business occurs just rarely. Would it have been launched as planned, it would have been the perfect Halloween slot. But even with its delay it is a nice game to play, available at all Microgaming online casinos out there.
